Martin stop using using blanket statements about ‘downregulation’ of the ‘endocrine system’ as its just inaccurate (cortisol - hormone - endocrine system - downregulated?)… and as for trying to start a pointless debate on ‘during or post’ workout nutrition simply because ‘post’ most mean after … seriously have you nothing better to do?
Read what I’ve said and cut out the nonsense.
In general there is a slight advantage to starting to sip on a PWO drink before training ends especially if the session is long - if it is a heavy weight-lifting session - you should have some kind of Pre-During and Post nutrition strategy.
Its not a blanket statement. Its not inaccurate, your knowledge is maybe limited on this one, it seems to stretch to cortisone only. Let me correct you, when metabolism is stressed and glycogen is low after high intensity training hypercortison and hypoinsulinism arises. The pituitary gland is disrupted the hypothalamus downregulates (ENDOCRINE) signals to the pituitary (ENDOCRINE) are insufficient. Peripheral thyroidal hormone levels, growth hormone and insulinelike growth factor-I all decrease. Yes cortisone increases.
I did not invent the phrase “downregulation” that can be attributed to others. THIS IS WHAT THEY (researchers) have observed.
Now tell me that its not a down regulation of the endocrinal system.
Check out “Enhancing Recovery” edited by Micheal Kellmann, so that you are up to date.
This is what happens. Read The stress of life then you may come into the light. Until you have all the pieces don’t tell me about how I am
generalising.
Listen… its obviously important when you do things otherwise we would not have had Charlie suggesting timing for the ingestion of L.I.V. So it may sound pedantic but you was rather flippant and dismissive about the timing of the PWO drink. Charlie’s intervention just shows that we all have much to learn, so less of the flippant and the “seriously have you nothing better to do?” bull and more useful discussion needed.
Yeah I ve got lots of books at your level.
I recommend “Dr.Seuss’s ABC” for 3 year olds… I am sure that you will enjoy it especially Aunt Annie’s alligator and the Zizzer-Zazzer Zuss. Martn NOT Martin, that isn’t my name.
