Herb. For the “two ups” and “three ups” would it benefit the sprinter to land on his butt on the HJ mat rather than his legs?
Whichever the athlete is more comfortable with. If they’re a longjumper, then lifting the knees up and landing with the butt on the mat wouldn’t be a bad thing.
would you ever do these exercises on one leg to increase the demands??
Only if for some reason you cannot run at all but can do 1 legged hops. Or if you are a jumper - but then perhaps there are some better exercises to work rhythm for the event as well.
