Nsca-cscs.exam.

I will be taking the NSCA CSCS exam most likely next spring and i have started my reviewing as wlel as taking the practice tests. I am just curious what is a passing grade in this test?

I real quickly took an online practice test and with about 6 stupid mistakes still managed to score a 29/45 which = 64.4%.

Take this test and tell me what you guys get. Module 3, 5, and 7 i did very well on.

I didn’t even review or prepared much for it and I passed it. I got a perfect score on the nutrition section… You need 70% to pass, I think. I’m not all that impressed with NSCA’s stuff but if you wanna to get a job, get CSCS. That’s how it is unfortunately. Not one of the better places to learn stuff from.

Pretty cool brush up test Quick, I was going through it and some of the questions were on stuff I covered a few years back so it took a little time to remember, but I certainly recognized the material.

Some of the questions were on material on exams I had this year to get my certifications, pretty good feeling to get those correct.

Hey Quick,

Nice to see another Red Dragon alum. on the board.

The CSCS test is pretty much mandatory for any strength job, or in the personal training industry it gives instant credibility. Don’t worry about what they teach, just learn it to get through the exam. Then you can learn from much better sources.

Good luck.

Thanx Nate. I currently attend Cortland. I will be graduating next spring. I played football for a year and i run track.
What yr. did you graduate and what do you do now?

I graduated May '98 with a Health Science degree. I worked in corporate fitness and personal training for a while, now I’m near Albany running a part-time training company while I complete my doctorate degree in physical therapy.

My website’s here

How was the track team this year? My former roommate was a pole vaulter.

Nice. Track team is great this yr. Indoors we won SUNYACS as well as ECAC’S. And we were ranked 8th in the nation according to the power rankings. (They take your top 3 best in each event and compile rankings based off of it).
And outdoors so far we won SUNYACS and ECAC’S are Friday and Saturday at Williams college in Mass.

The link you posted is not working. See whas up. Id like to check it out.

YAY WILLIAMS!!!
too bad i am not there until next year…

Thats where u headed next yr?

How far you from Williams? Come chill this weekend.

I’m 2.5-3 hours from Williams, but I do have a meet on saturday…

O OK… good luck!

Quick,

Just cut-and-paste this. The link worked for me before, but I’m no computer geek, so I’ll just leave the address:

Bump. Can anyone confirm that the passing grade is 70%? And can anyone that got certified confirm that the pretest questions are of a similar difficulty level as the actual exam?

Like i said in my other post, you need 70% passing grade. I’ve taken CSCS exam with very little preparation for it and I passed with flying color. I didn’t think it was that hard. Just read the textbook and you’ll be fine. Then again, I’m 100% hearing impaired and didn’t have an idea of what was going on in the video section part. That’s the only problem i had but I passed anyway. Passing is passing. They don’t give out awards for high marks.

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure since you said I think in your other post.

same here, i took it last summer after graduating and found it to be pretty easy, if you have a degree in exercise science a little bit of a review (especially when fresh out of school) should suffice.

Now, anyone with a degree regardless of what they studied can take the exam. What a sell out. I’m not a big fan of NSCA at all. I don’t think they’re all that special. Majority of strength coaches with CSCS aren’t that good so that should tell you something about NSCA. Some of their studies are plain stupid. They have no clue of what they’re doing. It’s kinda sad.

Think about not having the CSCS exam…talk about wild wild west!

LOL

I take it that you’re not a big fan of NSCA too…
