NFL's Fastest Man Competition

its possible, my one buddy i play softball with is the same height as me but weighs about 220ish which out weighs me by 40 lbs, hes been bulking for about 2 years now and is huge on powerlifting, long story short last year during the season we were trying to see who can make it to 1st base the fastest. we would tie just about everytime but he would blow me away for the first 30-40 ft then i would catch up at the end.
plus why would he lie about having a great 40 time but a subpar 100?

Because his 40 yard dash time is faster then everybody in the NFL. It’s porbably just his coach timing porrly though. In grade 8 my coach timed me at 11.1 for the 100 meter and I was about .6 seconds behind that in grade 9 last year. Not to mention that 11.1 was on grass without spikes.

Actually the day I ran that fast time I beat the best sprinter who was being timed on grass bc he didn’t want to run on the track at that time! My coach was Willie Krause an Olympic coach/athlete! Anways the other athlete was a far superior sprinter than me at all phases except I didn’t take the transition phase time off! It was in September! My coach almost tore off the other commenwealth games athlete’s head off! He said How could you lose to this Venom? I never ran that fast again but I have been close to those times! Also if my coach mistimed me then he would have mistimed the other guys two right! Well he didn’t bc my average time for the next two years was a 4.28 with the same circumstances! My best 30m time was a 3.49 and average times were 3.63-3.67!

Also do you honestly think I would lie about such a thing after reading all of my other posts! You know I love guys that think I am full of shit bc when it comes time to putup or shutup most of them shutup! And the ones that putup the dough usually don’t have any money for dinner that week or drinking on the weekends! These same people question my bench all the time and I embarass them when I do it and win the bet! I was only thrown out once in my final year of house league in baseball in 96 I believe. You would have to get the stats from the City of Trail’s baseball records wherever those are held! In fact, I remember that year when the Trail team through me out! It was like Mardi Gras bc they thought it was impossible! The reason I got thrown out was bc I had a late jump and not my usual leadoff!

Note: When you have that speed and everyone fears it you get a sense of omnipotent presence, you know no matter what the other team does in soccer/baseball/football, that you can turn that speed on in a heartbeat and before you know it I have scored the goal/run/touchdown and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it! That’s why I loved sprinting growing up and wanting to be the best!

I miss those days!

Ya alright, I just find it hard to believe that you ran that fast. My friends sometimes think I will never do well in running but I prove them wrong every year.

Ronnie Brown ran a 4.32 at the combine today, he’s looking really good.

I don’t think Vick is the fastest either, but only good for 50 is an illusion. Think of Vick running on the field as someone running the 400m. After doing the things that Vick does, before he breaks away, it’s only natural that he’s a bit fatigued. If you just spent 8 sec going back and forth trying not to get sacked, when you finally get away, you’re not gonna have the juice to maintain top speed.

There is no doubt that Vick isn’t the fastest, but it’s not really fair to say he’s only good for 50y. If he made a move or two, and took off, he’s not gonna get caught 19 times outta 20. I think Moss(Randy & Santana) are faster than Vick, but they would have the same problem if they played the same way as Vick.

[QUOTE=yureskes]all these 40yd times are BS. deion sanders holds the combine record for the 40 with a 4.27 electronic. Deangelo Hall was timed at 4.15 at Va Tech but ran 4.37 at the combine electronic. he wasn’t even the fastest corner (duante Robinson ran 4.34). Joey Galloway ran 4.18 at OSU in college then ran a 4.31 at the combine. Delthea O’neal ran 4.34 at a college pro day and pulled a blistering 4.65 at the combine.

Look at all those times you just mentioned and look at the difference between them. They all average .2 difference. Everyone knows 40’s are usually exaggerated, but if someone runs a 4.1, and then runs a 4.3, I wouldn’t look at the 4.1 as BS. Most times are inflated by coaches and other folks, but when they are that close, it’s not a mistake. You’re not gonna run the same time every time you step on the track. The 1st time I ran the 40yd, I ran a 5.1. The following year I ran in the same day, five 40’s under 4.45. In order they went…4.43, 4.37, 4.35. 4.17, 4.33. A couple months later with the same person timing me, I couldn’t get under 4.51.
