i currently run about a 4.7 forty yard dash and i want to get it down to a 4.4 , 4.3 in like 2-3 months(hopefully 2) can anybody give me some good advice. any comments will be helpful . thanks.o, im 5’9 138lbs. im need to get faster for football i have really good hands even though there not big 7 1/2 inches from the very bottom of my palm( first crease you see)
I don’t want to be a wet blanket, but dropping 0.3 in two or three months would be quite phenomenal.
Perhaps you can give us some more background (how old are you, how long have you been training), what you are currently doing for training, what position(s) you play and what facilties you have access to. Then I’d be happy to make some suggestions.
Also, why are you interested in training the 40. If you are going to be tested on it, then that is one thing, but if you simply want to get faster for playing football, you would do better to concetrate on even shorter distances and your “football speed.”
xlr8 is right, you aren’t gonna shave that amount of time off of your 40 yard dash, but that doesn’t mean you can’t improve. once you give some more background info then we can help you get faster.

im starting to lift weights again, i sqaut 225 right now, before i ran up and down hills and saw great results in a short period of time, but then got hurt and my speed went down.
i have access to leg press and a sqaut w/ light weights dumbells from 2.5 lbs. to 50 lbs. i play reciever sometimes kick returner but i need a speed edge . im good at my position there just one thing missing , blazing speed.
