I found it a bit problematic. I’ve had experience with other accelerometer based devices for vertical jump and running velocity and have seen some inconsistency. One of the problems with a lot of these portable devices is that you strap it to yourself via a neoprene belt that still has a lot of give in it. So, inevitably, the device flops around and it’s hard to tell how accurate it actually is.

Unless you can actually screw it to your pelvis bone, I can see there being some inconsistent readings.

For example, I used this device for vertical jump measurement in coordination with a Just-Jump Mat and a Vertec Device (i.e. you jump up and hit the slats to determine jumping height). The Vertec and Just-Jump were very close in results, but the Myotest was much different.

Perhaps I was using it incorrectly. But that’s what I found.

My experience was similar to NumberTwo. There was a LOT of messing around before we could get it to work, or what we thought was it working. But even then the data seemed way off.

But again, maybe we still weren’t using it correctly. Also, the instructions that came with it were useless.

I still don’t understand why we didn’t just get a Tendo unit.
