I’d like to add one more thing. I won’t be doing my S/SE tomorrow. I am gonna do my 5K tomorrow just to shut my coach up. I wont be able to run in Saturday’s Borough Championships because I am taking college courses so I will run tomorrow to show him what your boy is made of.
Wed will be my S/SE training.
My plan for tomorrow’s 5k:
First lap: Take it easy. Get it going. See where I place with the pack. 13 minutes.
Second lap: Hit the gas. Hit it with the WAMMM!! Cross some idiots and make up space. 11 minutes
Goal: 24 mins or less
Then…eat some food and hit the gym and do the usual stuff
Even though it is detrimental to my muscles to do cardio then weights.
Tuesday:
Bad 5K. I fell when I was going downhill. That killed 10 seconds. I got right back up. Either way didn’t go as planed. I did 26:50. So in contrast the summer where I did 24:50 in my last 5K, ehhh whatever man. It happens. It was a light jog IMO.
Team chilled at the pizzeria to celebrate
Gym:
Squat 4x8,8,8,2 (at 275)
Reverse Leg Press 4x10
Barbell Curls 4x8
French Curls 4x8
Standing Calf Raises 4x12
don’t worry about the 5k, just keep plugging away. I’m more of a distance guy and I suck just as much at 5k’s. Keep up with your tempo and weight it will pay dividens come spring. Sorry I didn’t get to wish you good luck.
Im not going to do S/SE tomorrow. Gotta take my mind off the 5K tomorrow. Gonna go back to my roots.
Bust some ass where my speed was first noticed…BAS-KET-BALL!!
My first love that I have sacrificed for track. I am going to make a return to the blacktop tomorrow and show them that fullcourt dash, intense lock down defense, and of course, that silky smooth jumpshot which I hope I haven’t lost since I haven’t played competitive ball since July. At the end of tomorrow, win or lose the games, as long as my mind is off of all the recent things that has been going on, it’s an achievement.
Besides, I have to get ready for some premium SPP next week. So a break won’t hurt.
Right hand slipped off too wide. Some random dude came and helped me pick up the weight after that lol.
Friday:
Half day today. Too sick to do track work. Got cough, runny/stuffy nose. Can’t breathe at all. Gonna go to the gym in an hour then I have a mock SAT that my SAT prep class is administering.
Oh yeah, I got SAT results. I got a 1500 and my father disowned me last night :o .
Saturday:
Had class in the AM. Came back home and got news that the cross country team advanced to city.
I got word that the team no longer has no respect for me because I do not travel with the team to go to the meets and now the coach and the team think that I am “hot stuff” and “too good for the team.” I can tell I am under my “coach’s” (if I should even call him that anymore) nose. He will be looking at my every move come indoor and outdoor seasons.
Well, it is redemption time. Everyone has their doubters and that is something I’m used to in academics and athletics.
You’re right I should be timing my runs. I do wear my watch to tell time after all. But honestly, Im one of those guys that do not want to know what my time is unless it is a race. If I know what my time is now, I will keep trying to chase that and sooner or later, pull a muscle or something. So I let time speak in an actual race.
I hope that sounded right to you bro.
Well, it’s 47 and cold outside. I will be doing my first SPP track session today so I can’t wait to tell you how it goes.
Track work. Ahhh, the one week hiatus due to school work. It felt good making a return to the track.
As a matter of fact…ehhh…I’ll say it at the end of this post…keep you in suspense.
3x30
3 min between reps/5 min between sets
3x60
3 mins/5 mins
3x100
3 min/10 min
3x200 at 95-100% with 5-7 min rest
OK now I will tell you guys haha. Damn, I didn’t feel slow at all due to the fact I haven’t trained in a week. As a matter of fact, I feel stronger and faster and I can endure the last 50m of the 200. The 200 feels good now. There are no struggles in there except keeping form the last 50m which isn’t that big of a deal.
SPP track has begun. I soon have to start training indoors.
–felt good. Im waiting for my parents to give me permission to order the supps. Till then, Im doing it all natural. I drank about 3 gallons of water today. One gallon alone during the workout. I kept re-filling my one liter Poland Spring bottle lol.
Side effects of drinking 3 gallons: Bathroom every hour.
Squats 4x6
Romanian Deadlifts 4x6
–First time doing RDLs…it felt different haha…I warmed up with 25s and slowly moved up to 45s for my first set. I raised the 135 to !85 in the last set. Not bad, not bad. I like the little strain I feel in my butt and ham when I do it lol.
Didn’t do track work because I had to take my niece and nephew out for trick or treating. For them junk foods
