no23: Haven’t read that one. Will have to search it out. THought David Halberstam’s ‘Playing for Keeps: Michael Jordan and the World He Made’ was awesome

Yes - indeed,
Another great read - and about time there was one decent informative MJ book written - and I’ve read most of them -
The Jordan Rules - Sam Smith, For the Love of the Game - MJ
Rare Air - MJ, How to Be Like Mike: Life Lessons from Basketball’s Best - Pat Williams, Michael Jordan Speaks: Lessons from the World’s Greatest Champion - Janet Lowe, Rebound: The Odyssey of Michael Jordan - Bob Greene , The Second Coming, Michael Jordan and the New Global Capitalism, New and Expanded Edition - Walter Lafeber , Hang Time: Days and Dreams With Michael Jordan - Bob Greene

Have you read any of these?

Slaying the Dragon - Michael Johnson,
Winning Every Day - Lou Holtz,
When Pride Still Mattered - Davis Maraniss,
Keane -The Autobiography - Roy Keane,
The Smart take from the strong - Pete Carrill ,
Wooden - John Wooden,
Final Confessions of NFL Assassin Jack Tatum - Jack Tatum,
“You’re Okay, It’s Just a Bruise”: A Doctor’s Sideline Secrets About Pro Football’s Most Outrageous Team - Rob Huizenga,
Why We Win - Billy Packer,
Obsessed - Richard Dunwoody,
They Call me Coach - John Wooden
It’s Not About the Bike: My Journey Back to Life - Lance Armstrong
The Art of Expressing the Human Body- Compiled and edited by John Little

Nobody liked Titanic ? I thought it was pretty cool (even though I hate to admit it.)

For the soccer players out there, I recommend “Bend It Like Beckham”.

Rent “The Producers”. Mel Brooks finest.

i agree beckham was great, and i don’t even play soccer. that coach was pretty cute…

Pete. You’ve got to get some comedies in there!

What I have been into lately:

Easy Money
Caddy Shack
Fletch 1
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Stripes
Strange Brew

OLD SCHOOL!!!

Dlive,

There seems to be a constant theme in the movies you choose. Were these inspired by your ex-throws coach?

Why yes #2!!! Since learning the ways from the Great Saint Aragoto, I never watch a movie that does not include a reference to the supreme Long D.S.

We all know who the real originator of the Glute Ham Hammer raise is!!!
Give it Up, Much respect!!!

Haha, good one

“Seven” is still my all time favourite movie. Closely followed by “Silence of the Lambs”, “Memento” and “Dead Man Walking”

Seven’s up there with the best, though i think pulp fiction’s a damn good movie…

For more esoteric tastes:
Trainspotting
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (a virtually unknown gem)
Brassed Off (another early Ewan McGregor movie)
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Big Night (for the cooks and food lovers out there)

Im my previous list of movies I forgot to mention my favorite series of all time which is star wars. My favorite movie of all time would be the empire strikes back.

I am surprised no one has mentionned “Army of Darkness”, the one-liner king

Lock stock’s a good film, but snatch is even better…

i’ve got to agree with 23+DaveW–cool hand luke! (ok boss i’m shakin it!)

anyone think blade 1 is good, probably the freakiest start in the slaughter house and great finish!

what about snatch with brad bitt trying to take on an irish acient, funny movie with great lines and great turns.

what about" the royal family" for us uk viewers, some great lines there.

the worst films i have ever seen were-

the texas chain saw massicar(fing trash)
gangs of new york(f
ing waste of money, better of watching the tele-tubs-at least you’ll have a laugh)
blair witch(they called it a movie that freaks you out,my vcr was falling asleep playing it)

Just got back from seeing SWAT and WOW was it great!! IF you like covert Urban Ops, Covert Warfare or love playing FPS video games, this is a MUST see. Very realistic (top scores in my book), fast paced and believable…check it out, worth yer $$$.
