Mens 4x100m

[QUOTE=Youngy]Those who think Australia was going well enough to send a 4 x 100m team are dreaming.

They might have beaten Canada.

Seriously though, congrats to our boys for getting into the final. Jamaica, wow, good call on keeping Asafa at anchor.

Relays are ALWAYS where you need to start when you’re in the toilet. Anything can happen- as you could see. Canada was in contention for a bronze medal. They just didn’t get it done.
Having a relay ‘program’ that consists of one chance per year- in late April (Penn) payed for by someone else (Nike) is NO program at all.

In hindsight I might agree with you. But we all know about PJ’s non-interest in relays and there seemed to be conjecture over the form of some others.

The selectors made the decision based on the information available at the time and there was simply not enough evidence to suggest they were running well enough or had justified selection.

Just because a team qualifed does not guarantee a ticket to go. There has to be a showing of form along the way. ie: Steffenson was qualified but did not run the individual 400m.

What we do need is review of the whole sprint & relay set up. Why did we not have three teams worthy of selection (M4x100, W4x100, W4x400) and why have some of our best 400m runners were way off PB shape? Only Wroe and Milburn were in PB shape with the other 4 off their best.

I think there are at least three people who should be looking at resigning or having certain jobs/roles taken away from them, given their failure to produce the goods over the last 3 years.

Lauren was delusional. WHen she said they were the best time I guess she forgot jamaica had just come in 123 in the 10 and 1 in the 200. It looked so sad to watch her run after she dropped the stick. lol. Damn the U.S. Stunk it up on the track!

Pickering saw asafa and just took off! “Oh shit its Asafa, gotta go!”
