Maximal eccentric stenght

I don’t know of many/any programs that are geared towards a sport (not just lifting more weight) that use eccentric loadings above the concentric 1rm on any sort of normal basis. There may be a thrower or two or some single cases, but I think you’d struggle to find entire programs that incorporate it safely and successfully.

Again though, people that have posted here don’t like it obviously. If you think it is a good idea, then try it. I’m not sure what else there is to say about it without some case studies of people that have implemented it and used it effectively (the progressions, athlete level, actual workouts, yearly plan, etc.).

I didn’t take your posts as such. We’ve all expressed our opinions, which is cool. Some at least of us seem to not consider such an option, whereas you are looking for a way to apply it -that’s our difference, simple.

I am in no position to “judge” the guys you mentioned above, of course. I expressed my opinion once again on what I would do with this theory with my athletes.
