I’m still a high school kid living at home, so I can’t afford my own EMS unit. But, my parents won’t get me one until I can prove to them that it’s safe (it’s not enough that I used one at a physical therapist’s office to rehab my back ). Does anyone know of any studies showing the long-term effects of EMS? Thanks.
A couple things…you can get the EMS 6500 for $47 and I hear it’s pretty good.

I don’t know of any studies regarding the “long term effects of ems”. I don’t know how it could harm you as long as you utilize it according to Charlie’s & others’ recommendations, especially if you’re only using it for recovery/rehab purposes.
I second Mortac8. EMS 6500 is a great powerful little unit. I paid 80$ for mine a while back.
off hand i dont have any research, but if you do a search on EPAs (electrophysical agents) you will find data on various modes of electrical therapy modalities that have been used for years by therapists
keep in mind EPAs include EMS, TENS, Ultrasound, SWD, galvanic stim, interferential etc etc
