Krasnayafleur's training

I’ll let clemson do the honors, since northeastern is about 2.5-3 hours from williams!

haha but kras, we wuz gon get crunk!!! hmmm might as well visit williams, although i think i dont hav the grades to get in.

yep, williams is a pretty special place :stuck_out_tongue: but keep in mind, we are ranked #1 in academics AND athletics, so it is a very sports-oriented campus. My grades and numbers were good but i probably would not have gotten in without track (and field hockey.) sports count for a lot here!

anyway, we had a day off practice today- I might jump in the pool this evening, or I might just take the day off completely.

i have a gorgeous bruise on my knee and a couple deep cuts on my ankles from cleats, but the important stuff like hip flexors and ankles are doing well. my appetite is absolutely through the ROOF :o

VARSITY!

need i say more?
I was so psyched, I kicked everyone’s ass on hills even though i had NO sleep: 2 sets of 5- first set in 5:55 and second set in 5:27.

of course its not like I’ll really be playing anyway, unless I am meant to be the backup for the other track girl on the team who is really injury prone… but it is still awesome to say I made it!

my knee hurts SO much, i got whacked in the exact same place again and its aching like nothing ive ever felt. but who cares… thank god something nice finally happened for me!

morning session was pretty easy- also included a core circuit which was good.

classes start tommorow, and with them starts my lifting for track. The strength coach here is supposed to be amazing, i’ll see what he comes up with.

So Kras, what’s the problem with field hockey in the US? Why can’t the US muster up a respectable team. I hadn’t heard of field hockey in the US until you started talking about it in your journal. Since it’s a university sport, considering what a talent pool US universities are it surprises me the sport doesn’t progress when crappy countries like mine have top teams in the sport (at least on the women’s side).

Honestly, I don’t really know since it’s not my primary interest…
Here at least, one of our coaches went to the Olympic training camp while she was at school (she is from williams herself, so it was a big deal since this is a D3 school) and the other was an Olympic gold medalist in 1984.

The problem almost certainly is money and funding… it’s not a big profile sport here for whatever reason and all the money at universities goes to basketball and football and other crowd-pleasers.

coachmdd- I think I’d be a little scared to come up and rub his head, but I’ll certainly tell him hello for you!

classes start today, and so the workload begins! There is a pretty strict 48-hour drinking policy on the team, so we really only get one big night out which is saturday. Hopefully this will help me get some more sleep that I’ve been getting, even though I really have not been going crazy drinking anyway. My training works better when I have some structure.

2-hour practice to come tonight, in the cold and rain… this is awesome.

hahahahahahahahahaha

I am really stressed out, I have not slept since I got here- I need to get myself under control and not stay out until 4am for three nights in a row like I have just done.

I have a bunch of work already, field hockey comp season starts tommorow, and now I have to find six hours a week to go to elementary schools and be a goddamned tutor to fulfill my financial aid requirement. Normally I would be totally into the tutoring thing, but right now it is really a burden. ahhhhhhhhhh

I am planning on getting my knee checked out for patellar tendinitis because if it were only a bruise I think it have been better by now.

Tommorow I am going out after out game and getting smashed, i really don’t care  sigh

just realized- 7 months, no period

had our opening game which we won 4-3, and which I obviously did not play in. I am going to stick it out because I know that at least half the the upperclassmen had to wait it out too so I don’t REALLY suck or something, but it is frustrating. I want track to start.

going out to drown my sorrows tonight…

Baby girl, please take care… sorrows don’t drown!!! The bloody things float. So go out have fun, but stay safe ok!!

drowned my sorrows last night.

felt it a little this morning, but not bad. It is beautiful weather and I want to go out for a run so that i will be able to concentrate on work, but the volume question is always there… how much volume is too much and will start to convert fast twitch to slow twitch? I doubt I am running enough distance for that so i guess I should get off my ass and go outside and run and do core.

things usually seem happier after training.

-15 minute hill/trail run
-10 min. core circuit
-2 min. run 1 min. sprint for 3 sets, 1 min. flush jog
-4x40 accels on grass
-5 min CD run

I love track.

have you gone back to track?

The purpose of field hockey in the end is to keep me in good shape for track, and I get to do it on grass and be doing something besides always track training which I think is a good thing.

but of course… I consider track my sport all year round, i think about it all the time, and it’s the sport i love.

I am still playing field hockey, but track starts in november… it can’t come soon enough!

oh ok you had me confused. youre hot by the way

ohh yehhh…

thanks guys :o

today pretty much kicked my ass really badly, I went to bed at 4:30am, wrote a paper for a class and got up early for it, only to figure out after the fact that the paper wasn’t actually due until wednesday and we didn’t even have class today. goddamn. so now I have to do a ton of work tonight and I basically missed an entire night of sleep.

Had practice today which was pretty easy, I felt great after having run yesterday. Game tommorow, so I will have to do a run on my own since I won’t be getting any exercise playing… I really hate field hockey right now.

my life is so stressful  why always with the frustration?

i am so exhausted that i feel physically ill.

sleep works wonders, but i must still be in debt because im pretty tired already. williams thinks it is fun to see how much work they can give you while still keeping you alive on the least amount of sleep possible.

training-wise- had a game today and played for a small portion of it which was nice. the team we played pretty much sucked, we killed them 6-0.

tommorow is a track meeting, hopefully i’ll figure out lifts and whatnot then.
