Krasnayafleur's training #2

haha well i have been in almost every other state. all i hear about seattle is rain rain rain.

elevation training is NO JOKE, i see why distance crazies are into it. I went to run this morning and found it extremely difficult… so every time i got tired and wanted to stop, I got down and did pushups or crunches or some other core strength exercise. I mixed in some sprints too when I felt up to it, so it ended up being a very random session, but good to be moving.

i am exactly 10 lbs heavier today than i was this day last year. It is also the first summer i have eaten more than 1,000 calories a day and not gone to the gym for 2-5 hours daily… and so it starts- again.

I think there are some benefits to not staying in peak fitness all year round.
As with everything else, ease in to the hard stuff.

its true there is a lot of rain. though in recent years it seems to be warmer. one good thing about clouds though is it makes for awesome sunsets. theres also a ton of trees, everywhere. overall its nice.

got up this morning and walked for an hour, just for fun. all our stuff finally came from boston, so i spent hours unloading and carrying heavy stuff… passed out for a while, carried more stuff…

just went out for a jog to take advantage of whatever benefits the elevation may have- had a much better time than yesterday, i went for 40 min. not needing to stop. I could have kept going a while longer, but it was so dark that i passed my street and had to backtrack when i realized i was running off into the mysterious neighborhood.

i love eating at home, i haven’t eaten a single processed product since i have gotten here, and i pretty much have gorged on fruits and veggies and turkey… so delicious. going back to school food will be a blow.

had another great run- just over 40 minutes, and it was like the more i went, the more energy i had. I wanted to keep going, but I figured it would be better to be consistent, rather than go huge today and not be able to go at all tommorow. So I satisfied myself by picking up the pace in the second half, then sprinting up the hill at the end where my house is.

came in, did a 10 min. core/general strength circuit, and at this rate i may have to go though it again in a little bit to get some more energy out.

my knees, ankles, and shins aren’t entirely happy with the pavement running, but it’s nothing that will get out of control in the next few days that i am here.

I think a big part of difference is food- i am eating my mom’s super-healthy organic meals which i was accustomed to all through high school, and i am eating lots of fruit again (fruit was virtually impossible to get in DC) and i am back on all my vitamins and i feel great. Not to mention i’ve stopped my stress-smoking, drinking, I have been sleeping properly, and i am all moved into my room at my parents… it is so nice to have my own space again.

if only living at school were this easy
I think school would be great if you took away classes, work, the other people in my dorm, and moved the college to a town with a state-of-the-art track and a whole foods market right outside my room.

an hour run

now chugging down some water and maybe some core if i regain a bit of energy. my knees are a little tweaky and my calves threatened to cramp at the very end, but otherwise it was quite lovely. nice cool temperature out which always helps, plus running in the dark always seems to help me get into a rhythm. I spent most of the hour visualizing, thinking about the upcoming season, and resolving to train as hard as i possibly can.

half hour to loosen up, but i haven’t felt well all day :frowning:

new avatar ah hahaha

heart rate is up today, a little out of breath… maybe overtraining?

taking today off, besides moving around some huge pieces of furniture. going to school the day after tommorow woooooooooooooo

now ive gotta ask
lol
is that your butt

shhhhh

actually yes

nice. im glad to be rid of the super scrawny girls in your former avatar.

Yeah, they kind of freaked me out too.

As for the overtraining part, it doesnt seem likely this early. You seem to be just getting back into it seriously after a nice summer of relaxation (relatively speaking). Maybe it’s just your body trying to adapt to new stressors, like the altitude, consistent training, and just the running in general. A day off, like you said you would take, sounds in order.

Good luck with school too, I started yesterday (although I’m in last year of high school).

youre a senior now? i thought you were younger.

I love your training threads.

All alcohol converts to sugar, doesn’t it?

yes im sure it does, i was referring also to all the sugar that must have been added to it… atrocious. as of now though, i have not had any kind of foreign substance since I left DC- which probably isn’t saying much, seeing as I have been with my parents and it’s only been a week and a half. but still.

i am glad you find my training log amusing

my heart rate was down slightly this morning and I feel much better after a day off. As good as hour-long runs feel at the time i suppose they break me down a little more than i thought.

lol u can be a junoir and younger then sophmore.

Look at me im 22 and in 4th year and still got a few years to go hahaha

Nice track ass. Is that pic taken from where I am thinking it is?

haha yes, yes it was. assuming we are thinking the same thing. i have a few hundred photos lying around, i selected one that is nice and tame so that i do not get myself banned.

weather has turned cool for the day, i am all packed and ready to go, just waiting to spend 2 days in transit getting to school. I may still run tonight, it remains to be seen.

I think i’ll speak for a few when i say
thats a nice peice of ass
lol
