infrared red sauna

Any thoughts on this for recovery?

Have a link for literature? I’ve used infared lasers before.

good for detox, not after training for hot stress…

Contrast sauna/shower is a really good alternative to contrast shower.

Do a search on the forum for general reccomendations on the use of the sauna.

My parents have one, and I really like it a lot.

You get a really good sweat without having your eye sockets dry out, and it gives a nice sense of well being afterward.

They are fairly inexpensive to buy, and there are a zillion companies selling them. I think my parents went with SaunaRay, a local Canadian company.

The one thing I kept running into was this claim that sitting in an infrared sauna “burns 900 calories per hour!” I think they base this on how much energy it takes to make sweat, or some such thing. It sounds insanely suspicious. Can anyone shed more light on this crazy sounding claim?
