I would like to bump this question. I think any male here who has had an ice bath of a duration of 20+ mins has noticed “shrinkage” that is not very short (<1 hr). I don’t want to get into our personal anatomies here, but this cryotherapy seems to have somewhat prolonged, albeit still short term effects (<a couple days).
ive heard that cool temps are good for sperm count at that men with low sperm counts are often told to wear loose fitting clothes and to sit on an ice pack once a day to increase sperm production.
extreame cold i am not sure. i have heard that gettin em too hot is real bad. Like you said, that is why they are outside the body. I was actually thinking almost along these lines when reading about the baths, What could i wear in the bath too keep em warmish? Like a pair of DT’s made out of wet suit material? Gettin em cold in a bath full of ice is what has stopped me from testing this therapy out. brrrrrrrrr
I know this is getting a little personal, but whatever. What I do is take a small washcloth (like the kind you use to dry your face) into the bath with me. I wrap it around the twig and berries down there and that traps the water in around that area, which keeps it relatively warm in comparison to the rest of the bath. It’s still cool, but not freezing cold and shrinkage is definitely not as big a problem.
Thank you for being “real” here. I used tights and didn’t notice as big of problems either (probably similar to your washcloth), although still not exactly good times. Shrinkage w/o taking any precautions has caused shrinkage, for me, a full day, sometimes a bit longer! It is not exactly something a teenage guy wants, even if it is only short term.
