It’s interesting to hear that a hamstring tear will take DeGrasse out for 4 to 6 weeks according to his manager.
My first question might be how did those people left in charge to help him allow this to happen.
If it’s a hamstring tear why would you end your season right now if we have known for more than 30 years such a scenerio takes 10 days?
hmmmmm…it all seems a bit strange ange. bolt didn’t invite him to his last race and hand picked his competitors AND now this for degrasse.
I don’t like it.
Twitter Altis athletes speaking about…
“I have been working to get mentally stronger” Double speak for my results suck and I am not where I need or want to be.
#carrytheshield is on Altis twitter main page. I know issues happen but geez. Use that ‘shield’ NOW. well now is too late. You have to use the shield BEFORE the meet.
Have they heard of the 10 day taper? LOL. I guess the coaches vision night be blurred by their guaranteed pay check.
Nothing against guarantees but that’s the ugly side of unions isn’t it?
Who is winning here right now? NOT Andre.
Andre is NOT winning. He is not going to be competing this season? REALLY!
10 days to recover from a serious hamstring issue?
The dots are not connecting.
what do you reckon ange…politics, a genuine injury or take away the contenders? nothing suprises me in this sport. 1 fact regarding usain is that he has been mr.track and field for the past few years. he fills stadiums, he pleases tv, promoters, sponsers, and so on. its a vicious circle but this is sport at the very highest level
Wow, i didn’t know this… Let me check on my odds…
Well the odds are not very good for DeGRasse. (where are the emoji’s when I need them?)
I guess you mean the odds now that he is out.
Injuries happen.
But you have a well supported situation for DeGrasse from sponsor and athlete and you can’t make it happen? Who is accountable? Who dropped the ball? What went wrong? Who cares at this point if you are discussing the end of the season. Your job is to get back ASAP. Why would you not want that? Why would anyone coach/ athlete / Country accept that? ho humm?
ange, hes a puma sponsored athlete so maybe a bit of politics indeed. I’m sure he still has to make $$ after the WC’s but the entire injury thing and rest of the season thing is very suspect
In part what I mean is ‘his’ organization has all the resources available yet this serious situation for his career could not be avoided?
He has opened the door for others to gain traction in his absence.
^^^^^read the comments, lots of random hate for bolt. One idiot said bolt dodges other sprinters. LMAO. Idiot said bolt doesnt race people when they are peaking…Not bolts fault others dont peak when it counts…
Bolts wins speak for him.
As for Degrasse, Do we know for a fact that bolt didnt want degrasse in his last race or was it Puma that decided to not let Andre into the diamond race. Its not like Degrasse has been dropping super amazing times this season, and when has bolt ever been scared to race anyone?
Who is degrasse actual coach? I know atlis is made up of many coaches…so are there too many hands in the pot? Andre was a lock for 2 Medals IMO. But Blame falls on Atlis
Oh and they say Andre went and saw Bolts German Doctor after the injury.
according to that link stuart McMillan is degrasse coach. a lot of BS a lot of hype and the usual hoopla going into the WC’s. bring back 1987 when everyone was fit healthy and going full at each other
That’s all I care about is my money, dropping $15,000…
It’s a missed opportunity no matter how you look at it.
Mondays training had to be so careful and intentional and clearly it wasn’t or there was something underlaying or the therapist didnt catch it ( why?) and what about all that time off? I get that you get injured. Get your ass back in shape as we know you can in a very short time (unless it’s not a hamstring strain or unless its way more serious and if so why didnt they know or have some inkling?) And go show who is boss. He is only 22. He is not 32 or at the end of his career. Tudor told me he wasn’t strong. He could see it and by virtue of his age and development. There are no short cuts to long term development.
A lot of people get injured after running a crazy wind assisted time. Look at Gay in 2008. Six weeks wasn’t enough to get him ready to make the final of the Olympics when he had strained his hamstring shortly after his windy 9.68. Maybe they could have been more careful, maybe it came out of the blue. Who knows. I certainly wouldn’t jump straight to conspiracy theories. No need to rush DeGrasse to race again this season either. Maybe they can spend a few months building the missing strength before getting ready for next season.
Bullshit.
Stuff does not come out of thin air at that level. This is not a situation of ‘my inner city kids’ that I coached for 3 months for 3 sessions a week.
We are talking about millions now. Not a few thousand en route to fame. You have the guy that stands to be in the top 3 and …MOst importantly challenge The Man of the Athletics world AND who happened to have a bad start yesterday and get out slowly by his own admission And And can you connect these dots?
Oh and the IAAF website did not even mention DeGRasse’s name either as injured our out or anything. Did I miss something? Since when does a major player like himself not even get one sentence let alone the publish of his name?
I am not a conspiracy story person. Trust me on that. I was married to Mr. Conspiracy don’t forget. And if you ask almost anyone who knew CF they will tell you this. He was not wrong about much. And these are not back seat driver type people having this opinion. These are some of the best minds in law and other professions that don’t suffer fools.
Has everyone lost their balls in this sport or is it just me watching and falling asleep because of the white wash going on?
If Puma wanted to prevent DeGrasse from beating Bolt (which would have been a lot better for them than what ended up happening) they could have simply told him to focus on the 200m and either not run the 100m or make sure he places behind Bolt. Faking an injury makes no sense whatsoever.
Well non of it matters now cause bolt didnt win. I think he is glad its over. lol.
