I have been working on the track for two weeks now, and around this week, really yesterday, I could feel my muscle in that area hurting. It really does effect my performace too. I had to cut out work out of my training Wed. because of it, and today. I’m taking Thurs.-Sun. off. Is there anything I can really do besides rest it, and stretch it? Someone told me to use Icey-Hot, anything else I can do? Thanks for any help.
Also, its not so bad that I cant do anything. I can ride my bike with no real problem. I can sometimes feel it when I carry my backpack, but that is rarely. The only real time I feel it, is when I’m training on the track.
Icy Hot and Bengay is a joke. Don’t waste your money. Most of that stuff is mental, I mean you feel the burn and the cool or watever but it’s not the most effective option.
Dont know if this applies, but:
Joe got hip flexor (tensor) inflamation on one side only one time after a week of football practice where the recievers ran curved routes pretty hard.
We figured it was because he had been favoring that side for a while previous since he had a knee injury.
Maybe coincidence but I tend to think that because we got him some custom orthotics (through a chiropractor) right around that time, the inflamation soon disapeared for good.
