will someone tell me how to use the med ball for training in starts?
Hi Sonic, we use an underarm two handed toss, bending at the waist the ball held at almost arms length is swung between the legs. Immediately swing forward and use the momentum of the ball swinging forward to pull the athlete forward and sprint out while releasing the ball. I usually stand at a pre determined spot to catch the ball before it bounces in the way of the athlete or other people. We find it effective, would welcome comments as always. Good luck
You really cant go wrong w/ a med. ball. So just use your imagination
While a good exercise perhaps med ball accelerations are better? They are in the GPP DVD.
appreciate the replies
Squat throw on a mat, roll-back & squat throw on a mat (both are demonstrated on the GPP DVD, as said above) and roll-forward & squat throw on a mat. Although a short acceleration is lacking from these exercises, they are quite helpful in good clearance from blocks. There are more on the GPP DVD!
again, thanks much.
