Exactly, and it will usually only be a .1 difference from a handtime. I highly doubt some football teams use FAT timing for the 40yds, am I wrong?
Says who .1 difference?? if you had someone who was very good with the stopwatch maybe so but most scouts add .2-.24 to your times.

They don’t add .24 at the NFL combine do they? When the combine is on the NFL Network, right when they run the 40, they time it with an ‘unoffical’ time. Then when the ‘official’ results are displayed, it is usually just a .1 difference from the unofficial time.
I got .24 bc last year i remember seeing on the nfl.com where gil brandt said scouts add .24 to hand times and i remember my uncle using .2 with the athletes he scout. As you should know you cant really say 1., .2 etc bc every handtime is gonna be different. also try using a speedtrap system and time your 40 vs handtime and watch the time diff be at least .2 if the athlete done cheat.
For those questioning the difference between FAT and hand-times, I can confirm that .24 is very close from personal experience. I’ve used videos of my athletes to get a very precise approximation of what their FAT would be. I hand time their run (I have above average reflexes, but nothing spectacular), and then step through each frame of the video to determine when the gun went off and when they crossed the line. I am consistently about 1/4 of a second off my hand-time.
What do you run for a 150 or 200?
My personal best in the 100 is a 10.92 but i ran 11.13 a week ago and my pb for 200 is 22.13 and my 60 is a 6.78 and i feel like my hams tighten at the end…I met a guy who is training for the decathalon(i dont know if i spelled it right)but he told me that i overstride and i need to stop pointing my toes and dorsiflex…Im starting to integrate this into my training program(A-skips,B-skips,etc)

Are all of those times from meets done FAT or are they practice times?
If your 60m is 6.78 and 100m 10.92, I’d try to get some video of your sprinting as you may have some sort of technical issue that is causing a lot in inefficiency (perhaps a lot of overstriding? I’m not sure).

everyone says that when i get to top speed i began to reach…I have heard that im not supposed to try to run faster once i get to top speed but just try to maintain speed…but i dont get this concept

Ok those times may be right, if you run 10.92 fat and your 60 is probably 7.0-7.1 range fat.

I have a question; why can’t he. I’ve seen guys run 7.1’s and 7.2’s go 10.5 so why cant he drop off that much if his shape is bad, his strid shortens drasticly, etc. etc.? And yes FAT, before you even ask. I dont see why you guys are bumming the guy so much, he asked a question for ya’ll to help him and after the first two replys ya’ll start bashing him and one another, maybe some of you guys are a little envious of him…is that why you wont help and only say that he’s a lier?
Hi, this year I have ran 40yd 4,81(FAT), my PB over 60m is 6,96 and 100m 10,95(both FAT).
My friend- national champion over 60m has ran 40yd in 4,66, 60m 6,77 and 100m 10,55 (all FAT) this year respectively last year(100m). So, you can calculate on these examples…
your times are not really off, i think with more races/training they will improve.
Because there is a big difference. You can have poor reaction and start mechanics and lose a couple tenths off of the start. If you run 6.7, you only need to go 4.2 to run 10.9 and you’re talking 1.05 avg for 10m splits. I’m not sure if you understand how slow that is, but it would require massive deceleration from his 6.7 60m to run that slow. You’re probably talking 1.4-1.5 last 10m to finish off to get 10.9 from a 6.7 60m.
And yeah, he said the 60m wasn’t FAT, so I’m not so sure about your psychoanalysis of questioning 6.7/10.9. His times seem to line up fine when you consider 6.7h and 10.9fat.
but how can i be in front of the pack and end up finishing in third place…Am I suppose to just maintain the speed that i already built up in the first 60 and i will run faster times?
