How to expedite leg recovery?

Hey sprinters. Just started the sprinting thing about a year ago (for the 400M). Last few weeks, for whatever reason, my legs have been a bit fatigued. So, prior to my next work-out, I’m going to take an extra day for rest. Aside from this, what else do you recommend to expedite leg recovery? (e.g., protein shakes, massage, etc.)?


Try some contrast baths. Basically going from ice cold water/ice bath to a hot bath/shower and back. There are many different protocols for number of repetitions and timing. But the key part is starting and ending in the cold.
