The threads suggest that doing high reps (8-12) of single-legged deadlifts for hamstring hip extension is beneficial, but in everyone’s experience when does the need to focus on them become less and less? Or should it always be a part of the strength program? For example, someone who can barely lift 100lb on SLDL obviously clearly needs hamstring development. But, what is the upper limit? 300lb? 400lb? 500lb? More? What is everyone’s experience with this exercise?
400lbs on 1-leg deadlift. WTF! I would love to see a video of that. Seems impossible. 100lbs isn’t weak on that movement.
Are you sure you don’t mean stiff or straight legged deadlifts as SLDL rather than single leg deadlifts?
My mistake, I definitely meant straight leg deadlift.
I’d say 2xBW with perfect execution - hips extension (forward hips projection) / not lower back extension (lower back lordosis motion)…would be a nice number.
The more sprint oriented answer would be, as long as It help you increase your speed on the track. Might have a greater effect on top speed rater than 0-30m start-accel.
I see a video of Single leg deadlift

but i don’t understand, the leg who work is the leg on pavement?
i must go with one leg forward without do any lower back extension, right? and then with leg extension i back on my position?
