hey guys
i run for stanford and i recently got hurt… my hip flexor has been bothering me since fall training , it got really bad but then went away. It comes back in spurts and i get other injuries stemming of it (eg quads etc). Coach says its because I have a weak lower back / abs (which is true considerin i never used to work them in high school).
DOes anybody have experience with this? DOes it usually go away with time / therapy or is it one of the injuries that will always continue to re occur?

Is the injury self-diagnosed or have you had it looked at? Where exactly is the pain?
well i briefly had it looked at by my trainers. The pain is in the region almost at at the joint where my leg joins my torso, if that makes any sense. Right next to the groin area.
could be psoas?
I am willing to bet, that its mainly the psoas, but if he is starting to get other injuries from the surrounding area, there’s a good chance that the psoas is not a lone culprit here. Get it checked out, especially since you’ve had it for several months now.
i will thanx for the advice. what is psoas though?
Its the Ilio-psoas muscle located in the general reagion you described, its main function is to facilitate in the flexion (powerful) on the thigh.
