Im a new coach for the upcoming indoor track season. I have an idea of some good drills but am a little unsure of what good 1st week training i should implement. Ive heard everything from light jogging with walk time in between. 2min/:30sec, ive also heard that you can start immediately with 6-8–>30 meter sprints. Does anyone have any good suggestions of what my first week should look like? My strength is Distance and have been away from sprints for 9 years where i was an assistant in a program that for strictly a Distnace program, and have been away from modern sprint techniques and workouts. Any help would be great. P.s. i coach a State champion 200m champ.
Naive distance guy!
