Hi, I was wondering what would be better overall, heavier weight and lower reps (still trying to squat the weight with as much speed and power as possible with each repetition) versus a more bodybuilding approach of higher repetitions per set. I’m pretty much set on right now to do a lower volume but higher intensity type of weight lifting combined with some gpp work like med ball throws and jump squats, and would like some input/confirmation from the more experienced athletes on this forum. Thank you very much.
Why not do both…
once your track work ramps up, being a bodybuilder will be the furthest from your mind. Unless you enjoy being in the weight room for hours
