I have a history of hamstring irritations in both legs, mostly things that were alleviated with massage and basic icing and stretching. Over this summer I haven’t hurdled too much, but when I do, I notice that it absolutely kills my lead leg hamstring, even when I’m not doing very much.
For example- yesterday I did hurdle mobility drills, 3x5 hurdles 5-stepping and 2x3 hurdles 3-stepping, with the hurdles all the way down, plus a few strides. this isn’t very much volume, but it created a lot of pain… and I don’t have the $$ to get massaged all the time.
any thoughts? lifting…? hurdling…? causes…?
