It’s hard to imagine an athlete that has more posterior chain power than an elite hammer thrower when you take into consideration they are taller than Olympic lifters of same weight, yet can clean and pull as much weight. Since posterior chain is supposed to contribute to around 60% of sprint speed, why haven’t we heard of great 30m and 40 yard times by elite hammer throwers? We’ve heard all about Oly lifters, powerlifters, even shot putters standing long jumps. Where are the hammer throwers at in the aceleration speed stakes? They’ve spent enough time near the track and have had ample oppurtunity to test there curiosity. Why are there No legendery 100 inch verticals and 2.4 second 40 yard sprint times  becuase every other sport seems to be throwing them up except the hammer throwers who have more power. What’s going on?
