Hi to all of you,I’ve heard that recently Gilles Cometti passed away:what your opinion about his theories?Do you think the research were good thing for the sporting community?
Any opinion will be accepted:D
Lot of theory and not so much practical experience, IMO.
I agree…also many soccer coaches refer to his works, which, IMHO, is not an asset.
Can you be more specific?I’m currently “fighting” with some swimming’ “coaches” which, instead, say it was an “open mind in sport training”
Open mind, for sure…very broad in his reasearch…sometimes I feel that the practical side of training was not so covered–
His training programs are widely used in French athletics, very efficient to improve numbers in the gym, yet to see reuslts on the track. Doesn’t leave much room for speed / SE development until the last weeks of the preparation when the weights are reduced to 50%.
There are actually experimentations, which gives good results but doesn’t take in account the interaction of all the training elements required to improve 100m performances (which is not only first 10m for recreactional athletes or regional level sprinters).
I completely agree with you ,folks:D Unfortunately Italy is closed to France so it’s much easier than U.S. to keep in contact;)
Any help for swimming?
