Getting faster at 25??

Haha, go re-read my post, I’m no Don King wannabe! I just think that a lot of elite athletes have a ton of people coming up to them suggesting a better way just so they can attach themselves to the athlete. For instance, think of all the guys who tried to latch on to BJ, the list continues to this day!

3-4 150’s. (sub max)

got it, i thought 3x4 = 12.

I agree. there has been a lot of stress from a lot of different angles. I am new to this and honestly feel lost at times. I need to set course and just go. Hey shin splints… best way to get rid of them?

Lots of ice… especially after training. Ice massage. Anti-inflam gel. Massage. Orthotics. That’s what I do… unfortunately they don’t seem to go away, but at least you can control them a bit using the above. Go and see the physio to - It could be a simple problem to solve.

Anterior or posterior shin splints?

Contrast baths/showers. 3min hot/1min cold, ending on cold. repeat 3 times. also consider your shoes. did you make a footwear change recently?

What was your time yesterday?

Who is your coach now?

Mike Young just said this:

I know this is a long time coming but I’ve been on the road a lot and was working some things out in regards to this matter. I am no longer working with Dallas and he is no longer being managed by HPC. Recent developments came to light (much of which was detailed on other forums on the web) which made continuing our relationship impossible. Among other things, drastic unprescribed changes were being made to the training plans I developed without consultation as far back as the first week of March. This had the potential to compromise both my and HPC’s credibility whether Dallas ran well or not.

Dallas is a good guy and we will continue to be friends however the recent developments made it very difficult to move forward together. I wish him the best in achieving his goals.

This doesn’t reflect well at all for WGF…

this doesn’t quit right, a week ago Dallas personally posted that he was still working with Mike Young.

Well I still wish him the best of luck, his indoor times should translate to some very fast outdoor times if he can get his body right. I guess now we will see what Inno-Sport can do with a high level sprinter, I don’t want to speak too soon but it’s not looking good thus far.

At this point I feel bad for both Dallas and Mike Young.

But I went through Mike’s bio, and I saw a lot of paper accomplishments, and some NFL names, but I couldn’t find the name of a single sprinter that he coached to the sub-10.2 range, and the listed members of the HPC Club don’t seem to be at that level. I’m wondering if maybe Mike is simply a bit (or maybe more than a bit) out of his depth here. It seemed to work very well for a while, but it also seems to have produced a lot of injuries–to the point that Dallas didn’t seem to have been able to maintain the training that produced those results in the first place. Maybe Mike doesn’t know how to adjust the training for sprinters with higher level outputs? And maybe this is why Dallas went to other sources–not ones widely respected here for high level sprinting–for advice?

Is there anyone here who does not believe that Dallas would be closer to his goal today if he got the GPP and the Vancouver download, and simply did what Charlie said?

I am sure this whole process has been somewhat overwhelming for Dallas. It becomes hard to tell what to believe when coming from being out of the sport to a sought after athlete at a high level. Let’s just hope everything occurred in an ethical and transparent matter. I wish the best to Dallas in his efforts.

And now we can see what those guys can do with a high level athlete.
