Getting faster at 25??

lol yes 35 degrees and raining–you should check the video. I have meet results already significantly faster than any athlete you have (see 60m). Well, except for Drob, but you didn’t coach him to the times yet. If we want to bring up the 200m, why not my 22.1 my first week doing special endurance? You surely have 22.1 guys, this year, right?

I thought you weren’t the real CK???

What happened to the 10.4 guy that runs 7.1 now? And who cares about handtimes?

Can you tell us more about Dallas training?

Gee, in all this debate, everyone seems to have forgotten about you!
What do you think was the issue? Did you over push at the start perhaps and loose the rhythm later causing an issue? How many runs did you do leading into the race? How did the prep speed vol compare to before your best two runs (6.10 55m, 6.64 60m)?
The volume generally needs to be a bit lower right before outdoor races because you need a bit lower tone for the 100m to be loose at the finish and the taper needs to be greater as you continue to get faster and pre race work should never continue to the point of any performance drop off.

 seriously… I’m scrolling through this thinking the same thing. Back to subject.

Can anyone post the video of the race?

Woa he was definitaly limping to the finish

Looked good 0 to 20m but fell back 20 to 50m and stayed 50 to 70approx (?) then limped in.
still waiting to hear some answers

Wish I had a few more angles too check it out from.

Surprised you made it to the finish! Looked painful. Great start though.

Still waiting for more info:
For the record, based on IAAF statistics, 6.10 55m = 6.53 to 6.54, which equals 9.98 to 10.02 approx. Drob is a big guy so the odds are that this correlation is conservative, so I am very interested in how this all goes.

Yeah, you definatly got out well, its to bad about the back, as you could see how much you were trying to hold on. Good luck with the recovery and hopefully youll be ready to go for the next race. And definatly get some advice and listen to charlie

Dude he cant listen to CF he has his own world class sprint coaches. They have him doing iso lunges and rpm trampoline sprints.

OK OK we don’t know what’s up so we can make suggestions and thats all. Everyone is free to listen or not

Hey CF what kind of times would an athlete need to hit for you to even think about coaching them?

I doubt that is an answerable question. Suppose some rich parent wanted Charlie to coach their 12.8 16-year old boy for an obscene amount of money, it would be hard to turn down!

“Foot Hurt Mon” didn’t exactly start with blistering times.

There is an answer to that question bc im not talking about some book nerd who parents has money and want him to work with one of the best sprint coaches, im talking about a real athlete who has a chance to do something.

We had been doing a lot of block 30’s and 40’s. I haven’t been doing many weights at all to reduce the stress on my toe. I had only two - three top end speed workouts over the past 6-7 weeks.

I felt like after my block 30 I was still sitting down. Hips to low and then when the pack was on top of me I tried to accelerate again and because my hips were so low I was completely out of position. I believe that was the cause of my injury. Trying to push to hard when I was in a bad position.

The week of the race we didn’t do much at all honestly. A few 60’s about 6 days out and then some strides/ flying 60’s the Tuesday before.

Ok. What about your head position? Did you sneak a look early and lift your head? This often happens when you’re under pressure, you look and raising the head lowers the but, causing you to drop and land well ahead of the CG. When you try to react, it makes things worse. Try to concentrate on keeping your heasd in line with your bacl throughout the accel period until you are completely upright. i’ll take another look at the film and see if that happened.

I took another look and it does appear that the head comes up suddenly- but a bit after problems started. I suspect that the quick rise from early on out of the blocks might be from forcing the stride a bit. What did you feel?

I agree it does look like my head comes up really early. I haven’t worked at all learning how to transition my new start into the rest of my race. I have had a problem in the past keeping my head down and causing my shoulders/ upper back to hump over… in turn really effecting my angles.
