I believe it is a personal thing…HOWEVER… if you are a supinator you may want to put something under you heels…the mistake some make (in my opinion) is they was to put the London Bridhe under there heels, you only need a slight elevation, like the width of a 2 1/2 LBS plate maybe a 5 LBS plate…
i personly never do full squats, because i get a pain and irritation in the groin…
i m just doing 1/2 squats.
Any experiences on this?
Almost everyone should be able to do a full squat. If you can’t then it’s usually flexability. If you’ve got probs in the groin then deal with that area and try to ease into the squats again.
I’ve been dealing with these things for years and it’s too bad most people don’t have the experience in what to look for when someone can’t do a full squat properly. It’s usually the soleus or the hams. Also if you’ve got a tight hipflexor and twisted hips you’re gonna run into a lot more probs down the road.
Isolate then integrate. Isolate the prob deal with it then integrate it into the bigger exercises.
You should try box squats first starting with a very high box and gradually using lower boxes until you can squat onto a parallel box or even lower if you wish. You should actually sit on the box as well for a couple of seconds before ascending.I’m not saying you should do this all the time but it WILL improve your flexibility in the squat, especially if you can SIT BACK as far as possible onto the box to increase leverage.
iam not an olympic athlete but when i comes to squatting i can teach/show the planet that my method has great results.
1, feet hold u up, not the weight
1a, feet positioning is very important. 90%
2, when u are at the bottom stroke, there shud be a straight line from centre shoulder to the centre of your ankle.
3 knees shud not pass feet.
4. rule of thumb… pretend u are sitting on the curb and then stand up, it shud look like that.
