Felix shocks Richards in the 400m in Stockholm
Allyson Felix came away with a shocking win over World silver medallist and event favourite Sanya Richards in the women’s 400-metre dash at Tuesday’s IAAF Super Grand Prix DN-Galan in Stockholm.
Felix, the world champion over 200m from Helsinki, Finland two-years-ago produced another personal best this season to take the race in 49.70, just ahead of Richards, who raced home in 49.72.
The victory by Felix sent a big warning to her American team-mate who will join her in the 200m in Osaka.
Another shocking victory came in the women’s 100m Hurdles as European champion Susanna Kallur of Sweden beat world champion Michelle Perry with a run of 12.66.
Perry placed second in 12.73, with Lolo Jones taking third in 12.81.
