EQI Frequency?

Having a greater ROM can prevent many injuries, but it can also create injuries depending on what structures must stretch to create the increased ROM. This is where the distinction between static and dynamic, as well as passive vs. active, flexibility is important.

Depending on what type of flexibility training you are doing, you may increase ROM, but you may also destabilize the joint. A destabilized joint is more likely to sublux, or even completely dislocate (not to mention impair performance). Seeing as how prevalent a problem this seems to be with gymnasts (particularly in the shoulder), I would do all I could to prevent it.

what exactly is EQI???

i did a search and couldnt find anything describing them… do i need to buy CTs book?

EQIs are essentially an active, dynamic stretching method. But the benefits go far beyond similar methods.
For a complete description of all of their benefits and how to perform them I suggest you check out my chapter in “Modern Strength & Power Methods.” The use of EQIs has completely changed the way I train people, and I believe they can do the same for you.
