I was reading the CFTS and I didn’t know that EMS was used on the abs. Anybody try this with decent results? I may experiment with this in the coming week.
I did almost everyday on low intensity for like 20mins.
Did it do anything for you? I think the CFTS recommends high intensity work (50sec on, 10sec off).
I found the high intensity settings to be absolutely excruciating when applied to the abs. I tried it for a couple of seconds just to see what it was like and it was almost unbearable.
Its good if you want your abs literally curling up
Ive used it, something nice to add or use if u do nothing else for abs, but not as a substitute for ab work, just like any other use of ems.
you could use high intensity but i the CF said low intensity for abs.
im thinking for the most part the adaption that takes place with ems is metabolic an increase in mitocondrial density that sort of thing. structual and neurological adaptation are minimum. but dont get me wrong metabolic adaptations are important and contribute greatly to athletic gains.
I started using it 4 seconds on 5 seconds off for 10 mins. @ as high an intensity as I can take. 2 second ramp.
BTW, does anyone know how important width is and what it really means?
