Droping Weights, Focus On Sprinting.

Yo

yes i have a question. I look to compete in the next few weeks, and i was thinking about droping weights for 2weeks.

And just purely, focusing on sprinting.

Usaully, i sprint, and lifting upper body on the same day. But today, i could’nt hack it.

4x80m sprint full recovery.

Upper body lifts.

I know that sprinting is the most important, exercise, so close to racing, should i drop weights. I just don’t see the need in them.

Will this make me SHARPER!

I need to programme my, Motor patterns, to perfection.

Also what about L Cartinine, so i can lean out, for the race.

What does your weight session look like? How much lifting do you normally do?

Does L-cartinine actually work??
Perhaps try dropping Sugers from ya diet to loose some extra Lard?

i have never used it.

Am definitly dropping weighst, its too much for my Cn’s.

Military Press 2sets 6reps 70kg
DB bench press “40kg dumbells, 80kg” 2sets 10reps
Up right Rows 2sets 10reps 50kg.

I would keep some upper body weights. How about just doing Military Press or DB Bench Press for 2 sets?

Yes i will, just for 2sets.

Which exercise

Military Press

or DB

which would you do.

Or maybe, i could do 1set of each.

thank you for the advice

Don’t know. Either of those options look ok.

I’ m totally new to Sprints and i want to start some Hill Sprints
Could anybodty give me a clue to what kind of training schedule should i use ?

MSC, I wouldn’t drop weights for another week man. You should still be good to recover as long as you really cut down volume about 7 days out.

I dont think 2-4 sets of weights in totality should fry your CNS that much. The most important thing to keep track of is your motivation during the workout. If you are going through your workout and you start to notice that you are dazing off and thinking about other things besides the workout, you are mentally tired or stale, and you might want to cut the workout there.

As long as you feel game to lift go ahead. Pay attention to your body this week and keep things intense and short. You should be ok to compete come within 14 days.

hey its Two days, until i run the 100m, electronically timed.

I have’nt sqauted for 6weeks because of a foot injury, but i could still sprint.

all this week i have been doing

2x100m sprint/ 1set bench 80kg /1set Military Press 70kg.

tommorow am just gonna do, 1x100m.

then i compete on Tuesday 27th june.

I put allot of pressure on myself, things have been up and down. Only these last 4week has my Groin injury backed off, and i could sprint flat out.

Am just gonna get hyped,focused.

I have no real idea of what shape, am in, my stop watch broke.

The other week a sprint cyclist, who trains at my track, timed me over 90m 9.92sec.

I should should run Low 11.1 11.2 aleast, but i have no idea.

First, if you can find a good coach, get him to plan your workouts. (It is a much better solution in the long run).

Second, regarding hill sprints (more info can be found in CFTS and the GPP DVD, both of which are very good), i usually use them in conjunction with prone starts. This ussually flows in to starts and accelleration work. If you want more info, i am pretty sure this has been discussed before (and in the product mentionned above), the search engine function can be invaluable.

I’ve used lying starts on short hills, and I really like them for getting in the right position

thank you guys i’ll do so

Mr S Cool

Sup with simple bench press and pull ups?

Leaving a rep or 2 in reserve at the end of each set you could do just 2x5 bench and 1 set of pull ups (not inc warming up) every few days.
