Doha 2019

Gatlin came back in 2010, ran 10.09 after a 5 year gap. Those early races were in 10.2s. Shelley still came back to peak form. Compare this to Elaine Thompson who has really tried to run through injuries and has gone substantially backwards.

Love it!!!

That’s great but tell us what it is as it won’t show in Canada and likely non USA countries.

Better.

Elaine is up and down with her achilles. SOmetimes her times are fast then the issues kick in. She probably hasnt found the right combo to manage the achilles. Gat was running alot of local fForida meets and other states that year which will not show up on IAAF. i remember watching him run 10.6 or 5.

Look how close it wasn’t.

And Canada doesn’t make it into the final despite having 2 guys in the final for the 100m.

The achilles can be managed and dealt with but for some reason it’s not getting managed and I wonder why?

Good work Sharmer.

Racing on a flared up Achilles is a risky gamble, the chances of structural damage are very low with symptomatic tendons. The major problem will be to settle down the pain, which inhibit force/power.

My guess would be chasing money in the diamond league.

For many of us it’s about the money.

I Think she needs to find the right mix of therapy to get it under control. I notice certain spikes will make mine flair up. when it does flair I have to wear a compression sock at night and do friction massage on the sides of the tendon. Nothing else really worked for me.

My prediction is that she will be out of the medals next year at the OG unless she takes a few months to get on top of the Achilles. Sacrifice some short term profit for long term success.

I wonder why she has left this so long that she has to take more time off.
