Have forum members any experience with Cranio-Sacral (or Cranila-Sacral) treatment?
I was just talking to a competitive triathlete and he swears by the treatment for alleviating problems originating from hips or back.
I have only sketchy details on the treatment but it involves monitoring fluid levels from hip-to-head and prescribing treatment (massage, release) based on the findings.
I have been side-lined for a month now with hamstring troubles and he strongly recommended the treatment. All research/ anecdotal evidence welcomed!!
when i first started out as a rolfer/massage therapist i worked at a center that had everything from ear candling, cranio, accupunture, reike(sp), chiros etc…i have seen cranio done, but didnt get any done myself, that had alot more to do with the therapist than the modality. she was a self proclamed guru and reike master and hadnt seen the inside of a gym since kindergarden. also, the work wasnt direct or aggresive enough for my liking.
i also have worked with some athletes that like it alot, but it comes down to the messenger and not the message. if you connect with the therapist and they come with referals from people you trust, give it a run.
that was pretty much my take on it to. it didnt make enough sense to me to give it a try. remember, there are thousands of people that would swear a tv evangilist(sp) cured their club foot or migraine headaches.
