I hope that I don’t have to wear any protective gear (including a jockstrap/cup). And, can I stand on a swissball while we do this? If I agree to be your partner in "Dumbass Training"TM, do I get 50% of the profit?
I hate all this babble about overtraining. You cannot overtrain. CNS overtraining (OT) I call BS. Most atletes that are afraid of OT are p*ssies.
You all act like OT is some kind of physiological phenomenon.
Rather than phsyiology OT is psychology. If you think you are OT, then you are mentally and physicaly weak.
Come on guys get with it. You just need to toughen up. Football is a WAR not a game. You need to be mentlly prepared for battle.
And it’s not Dumbass training, it’s reality training. For the toughest sport of all, the sport of life.
in case you couldn;t tell, that was sarcasm
Darn, I thought you were serious. I was ready to back up every word you said. Well I am going to the T-zone forum, you guys don’t get it here.
I’m not sure how the x-vest( which I like for other modalities …GPP) ) would help one develop a better squat. If you want to have a better squat…then squat.
i would forget about the xvest on that program, i would just do the squat program
My guess is that it’s a recovery type of training. Dragging a sled after some heavy squatting helps a lot.
Train muscles to be smart, not to be stupid.
Would there be a huge difference between the vest and a kids backback with a sand bag or even, god forbid, his books for his homework. I realize the bounce around affect, but why spend so much on a piece of equipment so heavily promoted by whoever. Some of those backpacks are sturdy as hell. Maybe $65. And they already own them.
I don’t see why not. Items like that can easily be made at home. I was planning on buying a 150 dollar dragging sled but I decided to make my own. It does the same damn thing!
dudes if you are gonna get a backpack and fill it, make sure it has good protective straps, I use an old jansport with a cement bag jammed in it, and it has thin straps, the weight pulls the staps extremely tight on your shoulders and they go numb while walking around with it for a while…also I like the specificty number 2 is talking about, I think I am gonna recommend this to some football players…like pro101 wrote, “football is war,” so I think I will have them tape sandbags all over their body and then have them run the entire field, all the while shooting at them with live ammo, hey what doesn’t kill them will only make them stronger and the specificity here is amazing…sure some kids never make it out of training but I think by training them this way you are just doing them a favor, if they cannot make it through a simple barrage of bullets while carrying sandbags, they will surely be killed on sundays when the actual war is taking place, look at it as a king of natural selection,…also, I want in on any buissness venture on anything called dumbass training, I could be the before picture, I am one ugly dude!
