I’m sure it was high because these guys are max effort guys.
cant do that at my age. that training plus going to work equals disaster
Tyrone is in his 40’s now, he use to have a whole group of master runners. They would go to the college meets and blow kids out.
Haven’t been following your training much over the past 3-4yrs but i think it’s time to make some changes. I recommend you invest in some type of timing system.
I 1000% agree. I was thinking about that this weekend. SHit is just sooo damn expensive. lol I got into meets with a new race pattern all the time. OF course that comes from not having proper timing at practice. Especially since Im alone majority of the time.
$500 is a solid investment really does help on those speed days.
You are already filming your runs in training. You can analyse this footage to get fairly accurate times. No financial investment needed. I use my mobile phone and Movie Maker to time myself to 0.03s accuracy.
The key word is fairly accurate… Invest in a timing system and have it for the next 10-20yrs while having accurate times on site. It’s not cheap to be great…
lol that is why I asked you. You being in the Hot Bed for Masters sprinters. My goodness!
I’ll stick to my own age bracket thank you very much haha If I get my Ass handed to me that is fine. Pay them back in the LJ hopefully.
Maybe get a PPL on the Forum Relay also. Just something I have been thinking about.
We are not world beaters but it would be a good thing to get going.
Keep it going broski.
Ha ha yea having fun is the reason I do this. With kim collins Gatlin and the likes running fast at 30+ its making many others continue to get it.
Yea I do like the camera, the only benefit of the timing system is getting the time right then so that I can make changes on the fly. Im torn between the two.
Ive been playing around for the last few weeks. Hitting the track, not doing anything in particular. Mostly just for weight loss. Last few sundays me and a few partners would hit the track and do sleds, blocks and prowler. IN no particular order. THat prowler is pretty fun.
Did some starts today with my homeboy. Here is the video.
Is it the angle or those steps short and choppy?
Most likely they are short and choppy. Thats a problem Ive been having this year. Gotta break the frequency
habbit.
Two things I see but it’s difficult to see.
The head on view gives me no information. It’s always best to get the side view and I like that you experimented with angles. That’s a good idea.
I don’t think your hips are up high enough but it’s very hard to see for sure.
And I don’t like how much time your feet are on the ground. I don’t hear light. I hear too much ground time if that makes sense. It’s not heavy and I think there is a difference. I’m wondering what could be peeled back from what you have been doing to change that.
What do you think?
Here is what I am guessing Chris. You are getting lots of things right but missing small details that compile to make all the difference. Easy for me today right? Arm chair jockey speaks again.
So what might be my concrete take away from my ‘wisdom’? Look at your start and see if what I am saying has any validity. As far as the other details of your training?
The difference between running fast and running at your all time best is in the details. I’m not sure if that is a helpful comment or not.
WHen you say my hips are not high enough, do you mean in the blocks set position or while im running?
Im thinking maybe my feet or on the ground too much, with all the frequency and short steps. Maybe im taking too many steps?
I think the blocks are not high enough but I can’t tell. I am not commenting on your hips when you run. I would never comment on a persons hips as the implications of that comment are useless to someone. If someone can’t keep their hips up that is a training issue not an issue for Ange is not thinking of having her hips up. Do you understand that? When coaches say things like get your hips up they don’t know what the f they are talking about because that’s there job.
I think you feet are heavy and I’m guessing because you are a keener and do too much all of the time. You run well generally. I bet if you took 2 or 3 full days off with one of those days in the pool and then did a very thorough warm up and did speed it might disappear or be substantially different. Just a guess.
ok Thanks, Ill try out your suggestions. Ill be taking a few days off very soon cause ill be outta town, plus i probably need to just rest anyways.
THanks again
