I hope you are joking? Can’t run fast without a 6 pack…
show me one 10-11 sec sprinter with a gut. Fast fat people dont exist
I know one - he’s about a sec faster then you. 230lbs (with a gut) 100m 10.6ish. 55m 6.3’s and toss the shot 51+. Also ill add myself to the list - zero abs and still ran 10.5-10.6. Abs don’t mean SHIT…
Ran my last meet of the season today. Im probably gonna shut it down, unless I decide to hit this one meet at the end of july. Going to get in the weight room and do lots of work on grass or turf. Goal is weight loss and strength gain for next season.
Dropped another 11.4 today. I couldnt do any speed work this week because of my neck pain from last week. THe neck tension didnt release until thursday. Neck and low back was 100% today.
THe meet turned into a trash meet schedule wise. sprints were 100 supposed to start at 11:15. Got to the meet at 930 to take my time warming up. Felt great, did some starts at 10:50 in prep for my race. THey didnt start running the 3000m until 1050. that pushed the time back about 30mins. I was ok with that, then once they finally go to the hurdles, 3 heats took an hour to get through. heat one of women, then 20 min wait, heat 2 15 min wait, heat 1 or men hurldes the another 30 min wait because they decided to run the first heat of women hurdles again because one person showed up late…WTF. So 60 mins after that they finally get to the men 100.
I was doing some shaking and strides every 10 mins, but that sun lack of shade and damn near two hour wait didnt help.
WHen I finally ran, I felt flat, start was terrible. I felt excellent at 11 am, but at 1pm when we ran I was done. whole day went down the shitter. I had planned to run the 200, but it didnt pop off till 2 hours later so I left.
proof is in the pudding. WHen I see it ill believe, untill then no fat guy will be making any olympic sprint team ever, unless he runs for a 3rd world country.
Also because a 1% athlete with a gut (who i bet was strong as shit) ran a decent 100, doesnt mean that sprinters can be fat boys and expect to be fast. IF so, Charlie wouldnt not have had his athletes doing ab work and tempo to keep weight down.
IN fact a I knew a dude in college who ran under 11 with a power lifter body. He was about 250 and strong as an OX. I ran 4.3 on grass in cleats twice while weight 195 pounds. DOes that mean I should gain weight…no thanks. Ill go with being lean
I’ll rather be fat and fast then abs and running 11.5 any day… Google Matt Pagel - 230lb fullback - bad ass white dude… Research my friend - abs mean shit. That’s not why Charlie did abs… LOL
You have abs and been training for years - i have a 38-39in waist and zero abs… Give me 6 weeks to train and I promise I’ll beat you and your abs…
Well we dis agree. You can keep your fat power lifter oreo cookie eating lifestyle. Ill keep running 11.5 and feel good about my body. Track is fun for me, I dont get all hurt and bothered about times. Like some people I know…
As long as im financially stable, and able to do what i love im good.
OK fat boy bet, in fact name a place we can meet up, record it and ill blow your fat ass up. I dont want any im broke or im sick, or some other bull shit issues. YOu called me out, so finish what you started
Maybe this can motivate your fat ass
I will do. I’m very financially stable, been bringing home 6 figures the past 4 years and my ole lady is finishing her MBA next year. My family is doing well on that front. Once I hit 10.5-10.6 my mission was complete. I had no need to keep chasing dreams - I prefer to help others to achieve their dreams… Ran 11.03 into +3.8 wind (cold wisconsin weather) follow that up in the summer of 2010 with 10.6. I’m very happy with my athletic career.
BEAST
blah blah, didnt ask u all that.
When you ready let me know the place.
Last weekend in Jan at the univ of minnesota - jack johnson classic.
umm, we are supposed to run the 100. Not a 60. Come on fat boy, cant make the last 40?
And pick a place warm in between both of us.
It’s simple, we can run a 60 and 200 indoor - true test of speed… I’m flying to Minnesota from North Carolina… Take it or leave it… I’ll spank your Lee Haney ass in both.
Ninja you challenged me. Called me out on the 100. If your in NC we can meet in GA, or Bama. WHy the hell go way to minnesota to run an indoor meet. Man up and run the 100. Show me how fast you can run you lil debbie cake eating fat boi
Do you need me to up the stakes… If you win I’ll gave you $1000… I’m not running in any lame ass meets in GA/Bama… Last time take it or leave it.
You come on my journal talking shit, then challenge me, then promise me money. I say promise cause im gonna win. And I dont want your money. Me running outta sight on your chubby ass is more than enough payment.
Last I checked, GA has many high class meets. Ive never heard of that lame ass meet in minnesota.
In fact, the hell we need to run a meet for? We can do it mono a mano.
Bring your ole lady, your parents, kids, any athletes you train so they can watch this 11.5 guy from florida shut it off the last 10 meters and still beat you by 5 meters
Whatever that means. Lol
Chris, since RB34 is in North Carolina and if you’re keen to come up to Charlotte there is a nice track at Johnson C Smith university that I use that is open to the public. I’d be glad to meet you and RB34 there and get it on video.
The track is in walking distance of many hotels in the north end of uptown Charlotte.
Chris,
One thing I have been thinking about for the last 5-6 months is possibly getting some type of 4x100M Masters Relay Challenge going.
Like a CA Vs. FL -35-39, 40-44 and 45-49 or a “fair” mix. You get the idea. An All Star race of sorts.
There are 2-3 others in CA that I would love to reach out to and see if they are game. I know you are in close proximity to 3-4 others my age that can flat out race so there is a shot at it.
Anyhow, what do you think?
