Fair enough, I can see how tech runs are every similar to what are known as tempo runs in Charlie’s training system. Is he going to be competing indoors this year since he’s skipping football season? Also, once you start getting close to the season are you going to go with a long-to-short program or are you considering a short-to-long one?

One little note, I think you brother’s goals are reasonable. This one kid I know ran a 10.8 FAT as a sophomore last year, and this year he went all the way to states and got second, he ran a PB of 10.43 FAT. With proper training, who knows where he’ll be next year. Whatever happens, just make sure he sticks to the training, because dedication to the program will really make the difference in the long run.
