While I still weigh about 25 pounds more than QUIKAZHELL (QUIK - 155, SK - 180 Pounds), I’m pushing my 225 bench reps up every week. I had done 225 10 times 2 weeks ago (at the end of a workout) and yesterday I did 225 13 times at the end of a more challenging workout (275-3, 295-1, 280-3, 300-1, 285-2, 305-1 w/ neutral grip chin-ups 10 Pounds Added to BW-7, BW-9, 10-7, BW-10, 10-7, BW-10, 10-7, BW-8). I plan on hitting 225 between 20 and 25 times on April 1 and I’ll keep everyone up to date with it . Of course to completely match QUIK’s reps on the 225-rep out, I’d have to do 265 20 times (the math is that QUIK’s weight compared with 225 is 68%, my weight as 68% of load is 265). I’ll post some pics from the end of the competition that I’m having that ends April 1st. Our contest at my gym goes like this:

The contest is 12 weeks long and it’s been a biatch of a training cycle. I started out weak as hell after not lifting for almost a month (December) and my previous totals were:
Max Squat - 285 FULL DEPTH
Max Squat Reps @ 1.50 BW [265] - 4
Max Bench - 265
Max Bench Reps @ 1.25 BW [225] - 6
Max Neutral Grip Chin-Ups - 9
Max Deadlift - 295
Body Composition [Body-Fat %] - 13.5%
Currently my totals are around 325 FULL DEPTH squat (I hate to emphasize full depth, but about 4 of 6 guys in our contest’s depth looked like they were fixin’ to take it up the rear in prison and not droppin’ their a$$es to the ground in a squat), 285 pound squat repped 6 times, 15-20 neutral grip chins, 305-315 bench, 225 bench reps at 13, and i haven’t touched a deadlift. My body fat (7-site test) is around 8%. All of my totals right now are in training and I’m hoping that for my peak I’ll blow these training totals out of the water. I’ve also been off of caffeine for 6 weeks so I’m hoping that helps. I’m going to re-introduce caffeine to my workout on Friday just to make sure I don’t have too much or too little come contest time. I’ve always sucked at chin-ups and having a full training schedule doesn’t help my own training but I do manage to get in 3 workouts a week. My goals for the year are to get to a 450+ squat, a 375+ bench, a 500+ deadlift, 25+ chin-ups at bodyweight and 10+ chin-ups with 45-pounds attached, and a 40-inch vertical [currently 35"]. And I have to keep my bodyweight at or under 190 because my girlfriend will sh!t if I get any heavier [while I realize I’m not heavy, “freakin’ hyoooge”, or some kind’ve strongman I do like being able to show a little something in the weight room while being able to wipe my own a$$ (thanks Dave Tate) and have my girlfriend not hate me]. Nutritionally I do okay considering that I’m a lazy a$$. Nature’s Grain Energy Bars and Cytofuse make my life pretty easy. I eat complete breakfasts and dinners and make it through the day with a heavy dose of supplements and protein shakes/bars. If anyone else would like to contribute how they’ve done on strength-testing that I posted, I’d be curious to know. My main competition is a friend of mine who went to high school with me and now trains in the same gym. His totals were:
speedkills I go to school with quik , he said yesterday he hit 325 on the bench :eek: at like 150 or around there, he has been teachin me some cool stuff, he knows his shit!!..someday quik…we will all beat you :rolleyes: and so what if I have to gain 250 lbs of bodyweight to do it!!! PEACE
Yeah, I’ve created the log as an inside joke. QUIK knows that I think that bench rep-out is real impressive. If you think about it, it’s probably a lot like Archuleta’s 31 reps at 225, maybe better. I’m curious to see how many reps I can get fresh and how many I can do by the end of this year.

He gave me a bolt to bed and I made the first kink but I woke up today with sore hands and wrists and I cant seem to get the damn thing bent much further.
quik when you are as weak as me you have to climb trees, to hide you ugly mug and not get beat up by anyone :mad:…quik if you hurt yourself on that bolt and your coaches find out I will be a marked target and until I re watch steven segal in Marked for death I am not prepared to beat up that big ass monster of a coach of yours :eek: seriously though speedkills

Question since you seem to have a good grasp on the whole football thing.
What would happen if I was to go to a combine? I played a year of college football and I am going to be playing semi pro for my county or the neighboring county most likely next season If i get medical insurance right away from my job.
Anyway I know my height and weight would totally kill my score. But if I was to run a 4.4 40 my vert was 32’ agilty 4.0 and bench 20-22 reps. What would I score and what would scouts be saying. Im just curious. No im not planning on trying to play in the NFL or anytihng liek that Im just curious. Two of my boys got invited to a combine on May 21st actually.
If you’re only interested in comparing your scores, I believe nikegridiron.com has a section where you can insert your #'s and get your score. It’s for high school kids so the bench test is 185 (so you’ll probably max that out!!). Past game experience and position drills tell a lot more to seasoned scouts than your combine numbers. The combine is more of a confirmation of ability rather than a test of ability itself.

Tried to get my dosage of caffeine right. Two spike pills with breakfast and a diet turbo tea 30 minutes before my workout. Had some mild stomach discomfort but mostly just felt jittery and unfocused. I’m definetly not using that much on Friday. I’ve actually pushed it a little too hard this week intentionally because I’m resting most of next week just with some light plyometric work and some DE lifting on Monday. Heck I wasn’t even supposed to do the workout I did yesterday I just felt bored. I’m going to try some light aerobic work as well and clean up my diet so I can try to drop about 2% body-fat this week. Girlfriends parents are in town so this weekend is going to be tough to eat right. If you guys don’t know what a tres leches cake is then you haven’t lived…
Contest ends Friday so this was my last semi-difficult squat workout until then. Some guy at the gym took the 35-pound plates off of the bar when I was getting some water and since I work there all I could do was grunt and try to look real pissed and scary. Poor old man didn’t know what he’d walked into. He’s lucky I didn’t pee on him!! Just pisses me off when people don’t pay any attention to what’s going on around them. Hey buddy, just because you woke up one day and realized you were old and a little overweight doesn’t give you the right to come into my gym and f#%@ up my workout. Everytime someone new comes in all of a sudden they’re the only person that matters. When I have my own facility, I’m going to have penalties for this kind’ve action. And I’m also going to hire a couple of little people to wear “SECURITY” shirts and walk around as my bodyguards david lee roth style (better yet, oompa loompas). Either that, or they’ll wear somebreros with salsa on top of the hat and chips around the salsa like in Johnny Be Good. The '80s rocked!!

Light, light workout today. Last lifting day until Friday for the end of the contest. I’m hoping to hit 315 on bench press, 335-340 on the squat, 350+ on the deadlift, 15+ chin-ups, 18+ reps at 225 on bench, 10+ reps at 265 on the squat, and be below 8% body-fat. I’m going to do some light plyometric work on Wednesday but that’s it. I hate people who stare at the gym. Today some fat ass was watching me for nearly my whole workout. I was like, yes bitch, I’m stronger than you and I weigh less than your left ass cheek. Get a Life!!
i hate when ppl stare as well. heh your squat goals is close as mine 335-340 that as being twice my BW cause i weigh 170-174lbs. Right now my 1RM is 300lbs but i’m getting there.
people stare at me all the time, I keep thinking it is cause I am stong, but when I turn and look in the cage where I am squatting I see I am on my 8th set with the broom stick!!! So if it is not my strength , it must be my pure and utter weakness, people cannot believe I am smaller and 10x weaker than them with a suit wraps belt and chuck taylors Luckily my looks keep them from looking too long, their eyes begin to send pain signals to their brain…I am a looker!!! :eek: Good job speed kick ass on your tests!!!
