i think id like to have a career in something like that. i want to learn how the body works etc, but proabably more in relation to sport or sports medicine. what jobs would be available in this field? what kind of subjects would i have to do (im 15)? im taking all 3 sciences for GCSE. Would this kind of work branch off from medicine?
Hi Walrusgod, although in my opinion it is not a huge deal at the age of 15 what subjects to take I would say it would be usefull to get an understanding of human biology. This should be included in your standard biology lessons at school to some degree. It should give you a basic understanding of the human body and how it works.
There are many jobs in the sport science world including nutritionists, strength coaches and physiologists. If you meet anybody who have these sorts of jobs just ask them about there job, most people are happy to talk. I hope this helps.
If you want to do medicine then do chemistry at A-level and aim to get straight AAAs in GCSE and A-Levels.
Do bear in mind that if you want to go into physiotherapy there are hundreds applying for any one vacancy at a time. It may change but there is no money in the NHS at the moment for new posts for graduates.
