Breathing technique

i have always been taught to inhale on set, exhale and drive out… and to breathe during the race with deep breathes every 20 or so metres… reading linford christies book, he said that he never thought about it and it wasnt important. is breathing important? what breathing technique do you use?

I think you’re good just focusing on the breathing methods you described during the start. You should be able to pretty much forget about it during the race.
