2nd time I’m posting about this, sorry if its in the wrong thread.
Wondering, who’s going to to arcadia invitational? I reallllllllly wanted to go to the Sataurday night one, but apparently I’m not signed up I went to the arcadiainvitational.org and they had teams competing and players.
They put me up for high jump friday night. I think its open, and not invitational. Does anyone here know what Friday night is? Is it an open or inventational? I still hope I can somehow make it to the Satuarday night invite. Man I’ve been waiting for this moment for like 3 months now, since I first heard it.
I got a meet tomorrow hopefully I can get a good mark, considering its my last chance to make a move for Arcadia, unless if you can qualify Friday night.
What are you guys planning? I think palmtag (I think thats how its spelled) said he was gonna do the 800. I think I made a qualifying mark, it was just that it was a dual meet. Good luck if your in my position.
Well not me, but my boy in the 200m (22.2 FAT) didnt make the invitational night session on Saturday, so it must be a damn good field this year. They put him in the first heat of the open 200 on Saturday afternoon, if anyone else qualified.
As far as your question go, I dont think the Friday field events are invitational. If you want to make it to Saturday night, make sure you check with your coach to see if you can get him to send in a better mark after the dual meet. Who knows, maybe someone’ll scratch and they’ll bump you up.
I’ve got a guy from my training group in the Inv. 200m. Low-22’s won’t get into the Inv. section I’m afraid though there are likely to be placers who run in that range. By then it tends to be cold, often with headwinds, and people have run an event or two and are tired.
Unless things have changed in the last year the Friday field events are open and not much different from any other meet. The place really comes alive Saturday night.
BTW, unless they’ve made some changes the warm-up area is downright dangerous. Watch your ankles!
thanx. Do you know if you can qualify for the Sat. Invitationals on Fridays meet? I know the winners of the Saturday day meet get invited to the night invitational. It’ll be a tough one, but I’m gonna go for it.
I have no idea. I suspect that if you do VERY well they may be willing to bump you into the Inv. section. A coach-advocate also seems to help at that meet.
Hey guys, I just found out I’m running the men’s open half on saturday. Whuppie. Who’d a thunk it eh? So Running at night on Friday for the 4x8 and around 11-12 noon for the 800. Cheer for me, k? “COnDoRS!”
High Jumper from my old high school, Fletcher Carlyle, will be in the invitational section. His seed is 6’10" (mark from Stanford)… Im sure he will be going at it with Klech and Key again like at Stanford. Should be a fun meet for them.
We may have another late entry, today one of our pole vaulters set a school record with a 14"1’ and barely missed on the 14"4’. Apparently, his dad is pretty good friends with the meet director or coordinator or someone so they may add him into one of the field event sections.
