Despite everything, I still find her really impressive.

Bolt has really tight arm angles.

What do you mean rigid form?

What’s going on with this B skip tech?

re: Bolt’s arm angles.
I would gather, based on the overall photo, that he is shutting it down and is cruising thru the finish

Very good image witch show the full extension.

I think I’ll print this and put it up next to Carl Lewis.

It is interesting to me that Carl Lewis, who had such explosive long jump ability, was not really that fast off the blocks. But Bolt, who is significantly taller than any previous 100m world recordholder, is incredibly fast off the blocks, despite his long “levers”. I wonder how fast Carl might have run if he has a great start?

some old bloke who used to be considered fast :stuck_out_tongue:

the new guy, sequence from the Beijing Olympic 100m final

This is really a fantastic shot because it shows you how relaxed you must be to perform at the highest level. Look at his hands as well as his face. Full power is being applied as you can see from the extension.

Key in this photo is that the inside arm swing continues to be “active” on the bend and the hand reaches shoulder height. There is no bending at the waist, so therefore there continues to be a direct line of force through the torse and legs into the ground. There appears to be close to full extension of hip, knee and ankle joints in the supporting leg. There appears to be no twisting of the torso on the bend, with shoulders squared up.
