Ana Guevara of Mexico, right, leads Hazelann Regis of Grenada as they near the finish line in the 400 meters final in the track and field competition of the Central American and Caribbean Games in Cartagena, Colombia, Tuesday, July 25, 2006. Guevara won the gold medal in the event, and Regis took the silver.

I think this is an interesting “moment” in the gait cycle … looks like all the forces are directly downward but of course momentum will shift the centre of mass forward in an instant and the forces will then increasingly be directed to the rear.

I find this photo very interesting. Looking at Gay’s right arm in relatio to his left leg upon contact both very similar. The rate of elbow extension and knee extension…

I love the expression on Gay’s face and the appearance at least of a contorted left hand. Also X-Man got X-terminated here, well and truly shortened up. Probably a long sorry story behind the result there somewhere. He’s good for the game so I’m sure we all wish him well. In Stockholm he paid some dues.

Interesting in the uniformity of action. I suspect the action is both down and back as you can see the guys who are slighty behind this point (to the rear of the photo) have a relatively straight leg sweeping back before foot strike. What hurdle is this?

This is the first hurdle, from the adds and the omega starting blocks stuff on the back and no visible hurdle behind.

Netherlands Antilles’ Churandy Martina (L) wins the gold medal at the men’s 100 metres event at the Central American and Caribbean games in Cartagena, Colombia July 26, 2006. Martina is followed by Bahamas’Jamal Rolle © and Trinidad and Tobago’s Jacey Harper.

Dorsiflexion anyone? Muscle in shin of the lead leg are definitely working to hold that foot up in pre-contact

KK Check the degrees of dorsiflection. Up early (Asafa) and moving down as the foot gets closer to strike, increasing the elastic response. You can’t move down unless you dorsiflect first. X-man’s foot appears to be dropping too early (?)

lots of bad tech.

what u guys think?

lacrossetrack, looks like Two of em are kicking out their lower legs before foot strike.
The Big guy to the right looks like good dorsoflect and high knee and steping down well. Which one is you??
