7x7???

:confused: Is a good compromise bettwen a powerlifting and a bodybuilding Block a 7sets x 7 reps with 2-4 minutes rest?

As totally random examples out of the context of any program, a powerlifter might do 2x5 (plus warmups), and a bodybuilder might do 4x8. 7x7 with any kind of weight is too much for anyone.

I agree with powerlifter. 7x7 is going to make you extremely sore, and will be far less productive than something like 3x7 or 4x7.

I’m guessing you’re trying to gain mass while maintaining/improving strength? Instead of using a compromise rep scheme (and that’s what it would be) why not powerlift on day 1 (6-8 x 3) and mass build on day 2 (two exercises each done 4 x 8-10)?
