2 Day Conference Meet 4 Weeks From Nationals

This weekend I had a friday-saturday conference championship meet. 1 and 2 prelims on friday with a pb in the 100m. 4x1, 1, 2, 4x4 finals saturday with a sb in the 2 and on my 4x4 split. I am probably in shape to run 10.70-10.60 with a legal tailwind, which would get me to D3 nationals.

After 1100 meters of very quick competition and still needing a qualifying mark in the next 1 or 2 weeks would it be smart to treat this weekend as my high intensity training for the coming week when looking at having my next competition on friday? Is it rational to worry about feeling “flat” after a week of low intensity work?

I would say yes, treat the weekend as The primary day of HI work for the next week though you might be able to do some sub-max 30’s by Tues. or Wed. if you feel up to it. Maintaining some volume of even sub-max. HI work should go a long way for you this coming week allowing you to recover but still providing a small volume of HI stimulation.

After a hard conference meet, it might take you an extra day or two to recover.
