Is there 1 lift that good spinters (or atleast explosive athletes) exceed at? Not doing well at this woukld be a poor sign for potention? Opinions?
First of all in answer to your question:
"Is there 1 lift that good spinters (or at least explosive athletes) exceed at? "
No. But excellant sprinters would tend to have excellent strength potential in any lift.
As an aside. I was told recently that Jonathan Edwards ‘knew’ he was going to perform well in the Commonwealths based on the quality of his gym sessions. While, I don’t believe that there is neccesarily a direct correltation between Cleans, for example, and Triple Jumping it perhaps was an indicator for Edwards that all training elements were coming together, which was reflected in not only gym performance but would be later reflected in specific event performance.
Perhaps when Charlie saw Ben benching those weights out in Seoul that while it wasn’t conclusive evidence of anything in itself, it was one indication (of many) that it was all coming together…
…and leg curls! LOL

heavy barbell squats on a swiss ball. displays strength, balance and stupidity, all very important factors in being a high end athlete.
Has the principal proponant of this type of training recovered from his fall off a med ball sufficiently to cash the cheques of his eager disciples?
Just browsing through all the old med ball literature. Charlie I see you like to spell check the proper way. I thought that went out of style in the 1600’s.
