ZMA & Testosteron

yea, did those tests use a high enough amount? you can make a test to prove or dis-prove almost anything witht he right variables. time, amount, and subjects can change many things.

If you read the first that is addressed. Did they use 2 grams? No. They did use 750mg/day on top of other anabolic precursors with no results. In the first part, they used 250mg and saw 0 changes in any anabolic levels.

It is possible the placebo effect helped you and not the supp.

i know most people i have spoken said to see any gains u need higher intakes, 2.5-10grms

its also possible the actuall supplement helped.
i take 2 grams at the least. and double that when im at peak training easily. i cycle it out so i cycle up and down on it and have off time as well.

sometimes you have to just go with what works on the gym and track. and from everyone ive talked to that uses enough of it, gets results. you dont even have to work out to feel results. you can tell from the buldge in your pants.(erections are more frequent and easier to get)lol

and 750mg is laughable. thats not going to do anything. everyone knows that. thats why it didnt work!! that is obvious to anyone who knows about supplements.

im still not sure why people take all these damn precursors?

Again I am guessing it was probably the placebo effect. Even if you needed a higher dose to get significant effects, there would be some effect at the hormonal level that could be observed at doses like 750m. Maybe so low the individuals wouldn’t notice, but through tests yes. Look up studies on other things that affect hormonal levels, even at low dosages they cause changes, albeit prob. not ones the individual can tell. Trib couldn’t even do this.

Back to topic… how much do you think trib boosts test? I think not at all or <1%, but let’s say it boosts it 10%. Avg male produces 4-7mg or so a day, so let’s say you’re high normal and trib boosts it 10%. 77mg of total test a week. Not exactly anything too exciting or going to do much.

I think that with trib the biggest problem is that it raises your estrogen levels, and for guys unless you want larger breasts to play with, its not a good thing.

As for ZMA, i dont know about the studies and testosterone, but when i take it i sleep extremely well and thats very important for training.

My wife is a national track cycling sprinter. I come from a sports science background so was naturally sceptical about Trib. But I thought even if it only gives a placebo effect & this leads to a boost in performance for her, then what the hell. She went great guns on it. When we withdrew her from it, she felt she definitely noticed a difference. The only thing now is, we have had her testosterone levels checked & she is high normal… or slightly above normal to be honest. No sports doctor has been able to satisfactorily tell us whether or not this would lead to a failed test. My opinion is that in males, trib is unlikely to do much due to a well established hormonal axis for testosterone. However in women, iot may drive the LH axis quite hard & any increase in testosterone could be significant.

What is the earliest age a young male athlete should/could begin using ZMA. My son currently takes a protein supplement and a multi. Age is 14yrs and 6mo. Would an over-the-counter supplement like ZMA cause any problems?

The level is not an issue for testing- it can vary between individuals within reason- it’s the ratio between test and epitest- and of course the secondary test for exogenous test.

They do not list an age limitation on the product.

ZMA’s purpose is as follows:

When zinc levels are low – relatively common in hard-training athletes – then circulating testosterone concentrations also tend to be low. ZMA supplementation is a convenient way to avoid zinc and magnesium deficiencies and, in turn, it may help to maintain normal quantities of circulating testosterone. However, there is little – if any – evidence that ZMA supplementation will help raise a healthy male’s normal level of testosterone to above normal.

If the above applies then taking ZMA will be useful. I have found it to be very useful.
